Middle School Programs

General Information: A Middle School kit serves 30 students.  The curriculum consists of 7 to 10  “hands on” activities delivered weekly by a volunteer for about 45 minutes per lesson.  The materials are volunteer friendly, correlate to the Sunshine State Standards, and are interactive for the students.  After training by a JA staff, first time volunteers visit their assigned classroom to meet the teacher and students prior to starting the program.

7th-8th  Job Shadow Field Trip (Class must also participate in one of the in classroom programs listed above)
Students visit local businesses to  learn about the various careers that are available to them within each company.  The purpose of the field trip is to give them a real world perspective on the world of work and careers that they can consider for the future.  Field trips are typically 2-3 hours in duration.  The school is responsible for securing transportation and Junior Achievement will reimburse the school for the expense.

After School Program

JA It’s My Business!™: Entrepreneurship is the focus of this compelling addition to JA’s after-school program mix. Through engaging, hands-on activities, middle grades students study entrepreneurs, successful enterprises, and use their own creativity and innovation to develop a business plan. More than any other JA program to date, JA It’s My Business! focuses on instilling the entrepreneurial spirit in young people.
