Do you want to learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Interested in someday owning your own business? The JA Company Program gives you the chance to put your ideas into action by starting and running your own startup with other students and with the guidance of volunteer role models from the business community.

The innovative, digital, 21st century JA Company Program proves that this isn’t your Grandpa’s Junior Achievement. The re-imagined experience will spark the entrepreneurial spirit in students by helping them understand how to incubate and foster a successful enterprise. It will establish a pipeline of inspired and prepared individuals who will be the entrepreneurial game changers that will profoundly impact our economy.

JA Pivot & Pitch is a program in which middle and high school students will learn about business creation and improvement through rigorous, unique, one-of-a-kind, hands-on experiences.  This entrepreneurial immersion provides knowledge and tools for teams to launch businesses during the school year. The 2-year launch goes from pilot to full implementation serving up to 875 youth with an emphasis on those socio-economically at-risk. Special mid-term think tank-JA Pivot, and year-end JA Pitch events will engage the community and add excitement and rigor. Students become engaged through their schools and teachers who approve placement of the JA Company Program in their classrooms.  The program becomes part of the school day with additional meeting and activities planned for after-school.  They go through real business activities such as capitalizing their product, electing officers, maintaining online manufacturing, finance and HR records; they personally experience the gamut of business activities.  During the first year (pilot) there will be up to five companies to be formed with 125 students.  Year two will double to 250 and year three will double again to over 500. The JA Pivot & Pitch entrepreneurship education initiative offers a solution to the absence of entrepreneurship education in many mainstream schools. JA Pitch & Pivot seeks to prepare youth to be responsible, enterprising individuals who become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial thinkers by immersing them in real-life learning experiences where they can take risks, manage the results, and learn from the outcomes
